I went to a housewarming party a couple weeks ago. The house belongs to Chris Stone, interactive designer/silkscreen artist/car enthusiast. He’s the one in the black. He loves Bauhaus, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and The Doors, but he’s honestly one of the happiest people I know.

What is it about a vacation that makes you want to go right back on vacation again? Oh right, it’s the ‘not working’, ‘drinking mai tais’, ‘waking up whenever’ thing.
Just got back from Maui where the wife and I celebrated a much belated honeymoon/early anniversary by chilling at the beach, snorkeling with turtles and sharks, reading some books (Augusten Burrough’s Dry was great, even if it did cut a little too close to home), eating lbs of raw fish flesh, watching the NBA playoffs, snapping photos and generally “getting away from it all” — which meant getting away from everything except for the occasional overbaked body stuffed into a swimsuit too small.
