Because prisoners there are all taught how to sing + dance! This video is probably the most surreal and brilliant thing I’ve seen all week on YouTube.
Kanye ups his indie cred by releasing this video for “Can’t Tell Me Nothing” starring Will Oldham and Zach Galifianakis.
And Apple wanted his short, _Telephones_, for their iPhone spot. So they took it.
The new video for Justice’s “D.A.N.C.E.” capitalizes on the crazy designer T’s trend. Features some sick typography and After Effects work.
I decided to compile my second online mixtape using imeem and I was well-surprised by how many full-length tracks were available on the site. Anyway, you can listen to the mixtape here — a little bit of the old stuff (Billy Idol! The Church!) and some newer stuff the kids are listening to (Klaxons, Rapture, PBJ).
Video for Cold War Kids’ “Hang Me Up to Dry” shot gorgeously in B&W with some Fellini-esque stylistics.
This video for Grizzly Bear’s “Knife” features Beach Boys-inspired harmonies + some stop-motion sweetness.
Okay, so the title of the post was too easy. J + Lou + Murph have put on a little bit of weight, but they’re bringing it heavy with the noise so I guess it’s all okay. God, that was corny.
Anyway, they’ve reunited, put out a new album and are touring so thought I’d post this WTF clip of Dino playing “Out There” on the Jenny Jones show.
You may be familiar with David Shrigley’s illustrations and cartoons but have you seen his photographs? They’re really funny and quite charming, and reflect the thoroughly unique vision he has on all things ordinary, un- and extra-.
Oh and if you haven’t witnessed his wicked pen-and-ink technique, check out this video he did for Blur. The last 45 seconds or so are f*ing brilliant.
Saw TV on the Radio last night at the Moore in Seattle. Great show, as wife puts it, sounds like “the music from the future.”
Because sometimes you stumble onto stuff like this* while you try to idle off the nervous energy.
* New Order performing “Ceremony” in 1981.
A tongue-in-cheek, comic book-styled vid for Peter, Bjorn & John’s wickedly catchy tune, “The Young Folks.” (Which also happens to be the lead track on my mixtape project for consesos.com, a new venture made with brains not brawn.)
This dude’s buggin bout a furniture store that’s just like a mini-mall!
This video for Vitalic’s “Poney Pt. 1″ is one of the most visually arresting pieces I’ve seen in a long time. And of course it makes me laugh.
