This blog is dead

I will no longer be posting to this blog.
Instead, I have launched a blog con sesos. Here lies the shit.

taco truck

Marclay wants unwanted sounds

And Apple wanted his short, _Telephones_, for their iPhone spot. So they took it.

Reminds you of something you’ve never seen before

From Newstoday, a preview of a documentary on Syd Mead, visual futurist, who worked on _Aliens_, _TRON_ and _Blade Runner_.

Live motion kozyndan

kozyndan + motion theory

Stumbled upon this going through kozyndan’s blog. It’s a collaborative video piece with Motion Theory that shows you what would happen if this incredible husband-and-wife illustrator team’s artwork came to real life. Used as a promo for Resfest.

Also, am not thrilled by the execution but a great idea nonetheless… an interactive version of kozyndan’s art where you can create your own panorama.

The formula for a great website

Great writing + clever concept =

http://noonebelongsheremorethanyou.com/

This deceptively simple site promotes a collection of short stories by Miranda July, the director of ME, YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW. And it’s one of the best things I’ve come across online in a long time.

BTW, she is performing at Neumo’s in Seattle, May 17, Thursday. Free.

Shrigley’s photos

You may be familiar with David Shrigley’s illustrations and cartoons but have you seen his photographs? They’re really funny and quite charming, and reflect the thoroughly unique vision he has on all things ordinary, un- and extra-.

Oh and if you haven’t witnessed his wicked pen-and-ink technique, check out this video he did for Blur. The last 45 seconds or so are f*ing brilliant.

Make art not war

Join other pixel pushers on this compulsively creative site where you can collaborate on multi-user, real-time art projects. You can be a buddy by helping with an image or you can be a royal dick by pushing stuff out of the way. Entertaining to see how people behave in groups.

The Young Folks get nostalgic

A tongue-in-cheek, comic book-styled vid for Peter, Bjorn & John’s wickedly catchy tune, “The Young Folks.” (Which also happens to be the lead track on my mixtape project for consesos.com, a new venture made with brains not brawn.)

2doubleOseven will be filled with cherry bombs and plastic bubbles

Hey, happy new year!

Thought I’d share this neat little video, an Adidas thing done with HVW8, music’s chill (provided by Waajeed)…

Draw 3D animated characters

This is really pretty insane. Draw in 3D, watch your character dance, and check out everyone else’s.

New York, Nov 14 - 18

Got back from NYC judging the Caples Awards. Wasn’t terribly impressed with the submissions but it was great to commiserate with other creatives over the state of advertising today.

During off time, went around the LES, snapping fotos of all the great stuff to look at.

background

Nabbed the collage of cameltoes from David Choe’s new blog. A project with him fell through but need to work with the sick bastard soon.

Tsunami Wood Splinter

Went to the Henry Museum at UW a while back for the Maya Lin exhibit. Her work is architectural, organic and very moving.

Three quick photos before the docent tssk’d me into putting away my camera.
